Project: Growing willow stands on contaminated dredged materials: impact of the vegetation on the speciation, mobility and bioavailability of heavy metals.
01-JAN-01 – 31-DEC-03
The aim of this research project is to study the biological effects of heavy metal pollution in dredged materials. A freshly filled confined disposal for dredged sediment is planted with willow trees. The relation between the physico-chemical properties of the contaminated dredget sediment and the structure and development of a willow stand is investigated.
