Project: Identification and cloning, by the use of a mouse molecular genetic approach, of new genes protecting against lethal inflammation and cardiovascular shock.

project duration
01-JAN-01 – 31-DEC-04
In this project, we want to identify and clone the genes responsible for resistance against Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF)-induced lethal inflammation. TNF plays a central role in a lot of pathologies and induces lethal cardiovascular shock and inflammation. Because of the anti-tumor activities of TNF, it is important to be able to control the TNF-induced toxicity. Several TNF-resistant strains of mice were identified. The genetic basis of the resistance will be investigate in this project.
