Project: Regulation mechanisms of intracellular H+ and Ca++ activity with implication for the control of metabolism and functional activity of electrical excitable cells.

- We intend to investigate the regulation mechanism of intracellular pH and Ca++ activity in single isolated cells. Experiments will be performed using the ion-sensitive micro electrode technique and the more recent developed ionspecific fluorescent probe technique. The purpose of the study is to analyse possible interactions between H+ en Ca++ activity in normal and pathophysiological circumstances.
