Project: Amino-terminal procollagen peptide III as a biochemical marker of physiological growth and its disorders in the fetus and newborn infant.

01-JAN-00 – 31-DEC-99

Procollagen peptide-concentration in serum or amniotic fluid may be a significant marker of perinatal growth. A biochemical estimate of physical well-being of the high-risk infant with intra-uterine growth retardation or postnatally acquired growth disorders may become available. This may be of mayor value in the management of perinatal growth disturbances.
