Project: Interpolation of litter decomposition between forest stands in relation to climate, soil condition, tree species and forest management in order to construct an ecotechnological expert-system.

project duration
01-JAN-00 – 31-DEC-99
As a consequence of a number of anthropogenous factors (decreasing tree species diversity, air pollution, soil compaction), the litter decomposition in forests is severely showed down, with negative influences on stability and productivity. Using numerous environmental variables concerning litter decomposition and earthworm communities, and measured in different forest types, an expert-system is realized, which ensures a soil conserving forest management.
