- The Netherlands knew an intense urbanization from the middle ages up to our days. In those countries, towns developed with a wide range of functions. The aim of this project is the research of the mutations of the economic functions, and the connection with the specific social structures. A second aim will be the analysis of the forms of domination of the hinterland.
