Project: Study of cellulair ionic homeostasis in trumatic and/or ischemic damage of the central nervous system.
- project duration
- 31-DEC-99 – 31-DEC-99
- With the use of microfluorescence, ion-selective electrodes and image analysis, a study is performed of changes in intracellular and interstitial ionic concentrations in an in vitro model of traumatic and/or ischemic damage to the spinal cord. The study will provide insight in the mechanisms of posttraumatic ionic changes, which are thought to play a very important role in the pathogenesis of these disorders.
