Project: Identification of bacterial and plant functions for uptake of Azorhizobium caulinodans in host plant cells.
- project duration
- 01-OCT-94 – 31-DEC-99
- The study of the molecular mechanisms of the internalization of Azorhizobium caulinodans by plant cells during the symbiotic interaction with Sesbania rostrata. an uptake assay based on tissue cultures will be worked out, for of all with wild-type Azorhizobium. Later, an azorhizobial gene bank in an E. coli expression vector will be used to select functions essential for uptake.
