Project: Influence of the sympathico-vagal balance on the blood pressure profile and energy demands during the recovery period after coronary artery bypass surgery.
- project duration
- 01-OCT-93 – 31-DEC-99
- Heart rate and blood pressure (BP) variability are prognostic parameters after infarction, which is characterized by an impaired sympathico-vagal balance. The evolution of this balance during the recovery period after coronary bypass surgery (CABG) is unknown, as well as the effect of an active revalidation program (8-14 weeks post-CABG). Short-term variability will be studied by power spectrum analysis, while longterm variability will be studied by 24-h ambulatory BP recordings.
