Project: Low temperature thermochronologic study of the far field effects of the India-Eurasia collision

project duration
01-JAN-05 – 31-DEC-07
Using low temperature thermochronological techniques (apatite and zircon fission tracks, apatite U-Th/He and mica 40Ar/39Ar dating) tectonic, orographical, geomorphological and climatological effects of the India-Eurasia collision in the interior of Central Asia will be studied both in a spatial and in a temporal framework. The intensities of vertical tectonic movements will also be assessed.
