Project: Additive versus maxitive fuzzy preference structures.
- project duration
- 01-JAN-99 – 31-DEC-01
- The confrontation of the European decision school with the fuzzy relational calculus has resulted in a sound mathematical basis. Preference modelling is a crucial step and fuzzy preference structures (FPS) are ideal tool for that. Continuous operators lead to additive FPS, rich in expression power. Unfortunately, additive FPS cannot express linguistic preferences. This project will conclude the study of additive FPS and identify suitable left-continuous operators that will lead to maxitive FPS. Both approaches will be compared.
