Project: Identification and characterization of the jasmonic acid inducible lectin from tobacco
- project duration
- 01-JAN-04 – 31-DEC-06
- The recent discovery of a chitin-binding jasmonic acid inducible lectin from tobacco reveals that plant s synthezise carbohydrate-binding proteins as a response to chemical stresses. This project aims at a detailled study of the receptors for the tobacco lectin in the plant, which ultimately will provide insight into ghe role and the importance of protein carbohydrate interactions in growth, development and defense of plants.
