Project: Identification of noven endogenous TNF protecting genes by using differential gene induction.
- project duration

- TNF is a cytokine with a strong antitumoral activity. However, TNF, also causes severe toxicity when it is applied in humans or experimental animals. With this project, we aim to identify genes or factors which, on the one hand inhibit the toxicity and on the other hand do not hamper the antitumoral activity. Using differential gene induction, we have found some genes which are strongly upregulated in three models that induce endogenous protection. Now, we want to characterize the upregulated genes and validate them for potential anti-inflammatory capacities.
