Project: Violence in pregnancy: a quantitative investigation

Abstract

The prevalence of violence in pregnancy is investigated in East-Flanders, giving pregnant women a questionnaire, based on the Abuse Assessment Screen, while on antenatal consultation at the gynaecologist. Showing the prevalence makes medical and social workers aware of the problem of violence, and will result in a better detection and a more adequate support for the victims.
