Project: Upgrading of effluents from manure processing to re-usable water for agricultural purposes

project duration
01-APR-09 – 31-MAR-11
Currently it is technically/economically feasible to process effluents from manure processing to dischargeable water through constructed wetlands or filtration following anaerobic digestion. In this project we aim at characterising these effluent types (physico-chemical and bacteriological) as well as listing the high-grade/low-grade options for re-use of this water. Finally, also an overview of polishing techniques suitable for upgrading of these wastewaters will be generated. The ultimate goal is to achieve re-use of purified effluents.
