Project: Symbiotic Networks

2009-09-01 – 2013-08-31

Abstract

The main objective of the Project is to design a global architecture and to develop networking solutions and service enablers to support advanced cross-layer/cross-network cooperation between independent co-located wired & wireless, homogeneous & heterogeneous networks. The ultimate goal is to demonstrate these Symbiotic Networking concepts in a real-life home/office environment.
'Symbiotic Networks'. These are independent, co-located homogeneous & hereogeneous, wired & wireless networks that cooperate across all layer and across network boundaries through advanced sharing of information, infrastructure and (networking) services.
The final target is an integrated platform, in which cooperative strategies at different levels (physical layer, medium access control, network level, service level)
