Project: Study of light sources for CMOS compatible optical interconnect on chip level.

- In this project, 2 light emitting components will be designed, characterised and realised : the micro cavity light emitting diode and the vertical cavity surface emitting laser. To serve in optical interconnect applications, the source must be highly efficient, must have a low beam divergence, must have small dimensions, must be electrical compatible with standard CMOS circuitry and must be realised in big arrays with uniform characteristics.
