Project: Identification of regulatory sequences of the human E-cadherin gene as a basis for the development of differentiation therapy of human carcinomas.
- project duration
- 01-JUN-97 – 31-DEC-99
- The important role of the cell-cell adhesion molecule E-cadherin in the suppression of tumor malignancy warrants the research after the expression regulation. E-cadherin expression is frequently dowregulated at transcription level in human tumours. This research project aims at the isolation of E-cadherin specific transcription factors and to make screenings possible for therapeutic drugs which can induce the E-cadherin expression in human carcinomas.
