Project: Efficient micorpropagation of trees based on rejuvenation techniques

The project aims to introduce new technologies in micropropagation of woody plants in order to obtain an economical alternative for seed propagation. Therefore two research axes will be developed: - the application of primary somatic embryogenesis to rejuvenate recalcitrant woody species and thus to enhance propagation - the application of temporary immersion in bio-reactors (TIB) to optimise axillary bud multiplication of the ‘in vitro’ plants obtained by somatic embryogenesis
