Project: Heterogeneous catalysts: from the solid to the reactor. Tailoor-made design of hybrid catalytic solids for hyperselective and sustainable chemical processes.

abstract
It is the aim to develop the basic and generic knowledge that is necessary for the development of a new generation of catalytic reactors for a wide range of indusrial sectors, ranging from applications in the bulk chemical industry, the fine chemicals area, to the pharmaceutical and the food chemistry. More specifically, two families of highly selective hybrid catalysts will be developed comprising solid superacids as well as superbases. Such solids will be formed and shaped so as to be able to function in new (micro)structured reactor configurations.
