Project: Basic research in intelligent yarn brake control for interweaving spun weft yarn.

2000-07-01 – 2002-06-30

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to model the behaviour of yarn when braking after being inserted in an air weaving machine. This is to prevent the tension from increasing too much, which would cause the yarn to break, and to keep the tension sufficiently high to keep the thread stretched. The way of braking (power in function of time) obviously plays a decisive role. In addition to the theoretical part, experiments will be done, aiming at collecting practicaal data and testing the brake control strategies and methods that will be dwawn.
