Project: Utility of modified porous materials as a carrier of natural active components for food packaging

project duration
01-SEP-01 – 31-AUG-04
Active packaging can be defined as a type of packaging that actively changes the condition of the packaged food to extend shelf life or to improve food safety or sensory properties while maintaining the quality of the food. The possibility of porous materials to control migration of natural antimicrobial and antioxidative components to the food and to protect the active component during extrusion was investigated.
