Project: Optical and opto-electronic technologies and design techniques for VLSI photonics.

- The aim of the project is to develop novel optical and opto-electronic technologies that will enable the fabrication of practical VLSI-phototonic systems. Breakthroughs will be achieved in 4 domains: 1) explore different technologies for the fabrication of micro-optical components dedicated to VLSI-photonics 2) fabrication of novel light sources based on organic and semiconductor materials 3) test and develop technologies for interface opto-electronic components with CMOS VLSI 4) develop overall design methodologies for VLSI-photonic components.
