Project: Immunoregulatory properties of biolipids in tuberculosis: interaction with antigen presenting cells and macrophages and effects on T lymphocyte reactivity.
- project duration
- 11-DEC-00 – 11-DEC-03
- Mycolic acids are a main component of the cell wall of Mycobacterium tuberculosum. Following our observation that mycolic acid engulfment induces foam macrophages, in this project the functional characterisation of these foam cells will be further pursued as well as its consequences for T cell reactivity.
