Project: A South African population study on the role of candidate genes in the propagation of the arterial pulse wave, sodium sensitivity and the pathogenesis of hypertension
17-DEC-01 – 31-MAR-05
- This project investigates a random sample of Black nuclear families recruited from the population of Soweto, Johannesburg. The epidemiological procedures will be standarised so that the study results can be compared with a similar ongoing study in Belgium (Flemengho Flemish Study on Environment, Genes and Health outcomes) and in Europe (EPOGH: European Project on Genes in Hypertension).
