Project: BEOWIND: BElgian Offshore WIND energy parks: tools to enhance the provision of ancillary services, the stability of the grid and the lifetime of the infrastructure.
2018-10-01 – 2023-09-30
- Abstract
In this project innovative aspects of the Belgian offshore wind farms are investigated, such as the provision of ancillary services, inter alia the participation in the frequency control, stability of grids with a high share of wind energy, estimation of the lifespan and predictive maintenance. Both physical models and data-driven models are developed and used. This involves studying wind turbine systems that are relevant for the Belgian offshore wind energy parks and using data made available by these parks.
