A model is proposed for an action-oriented food monitoring program. This requires three major steps. 1) the analysis of intake patterns. 2) the modelling of the relationships between intake patterns and risk patterns for different regions and socialclasses. 3) the analysis of the relation between eating patterns and social behaviour, attitudes towards food and efficient health information.
