Project: A continuous Holocene record of ENSO variability in Southern Chile. A clue to a better understanding of interhemispheric climate teleconnections.

1) Analysis of a new sedimentary 'record' of palaeo-precipitation from the Chilean Lake District for the past 12000 years, in order to study the impact of 'El Nino southern Oscillation' (ENSO) as well as possible climate teleconnections with the northern hemisphere 2) study of abrupt millennium-scale climate changes during the Holocene 3) study of pluri-decadal cyclicity (i.e. 50-60yrs) overprints on ENSO-intensities.
