Project: Large-scale palaeo-etnographical analysis of an early Mesolithic settlement at Verrebroek (East-Flanders, Belgium).

The proposed research project aims at the large-scale salvage excavation of one of the largest (3 hectares) and best preserved Mesolithic settlements actually known within the Belgian territory. The objectives of the project are : 1) the excavation of some 8000 m_ of Mesolithic livingfloor 2) a detailed palaeo-etnographical reconstruction based on the results of the latest research methods and techniques, i.e. spatial analysis, refittings, micro-wear analysis and radiocarbon dating.
