Project: Isolation of heterocyclic compounds by using preparative gas chromatography

2006-12-01 – 2007-12-31

Abstract

Whenever food is heated, a large variety of compounds is formed, mainly due to the Maillard reaction. When new compounds are detected, resulting from model reactions, these compounds need to be isolated to enable structural identification. For this purpose, an application for a preparative gas chromatograph is submitted. This technique will also be used extensively for the isolation of synthetic heterocylcic compounds.
