Project: Insect physiology and control of economically-important noxious and resistant insects with biorational and environmentally-safe strategies

project duration
01-OCT-08 – 30-SEP-12
In general the ambitions of my research are situated in the domains of insect physiology and insect pest control, with fundamental rsearch projects in insects and in second with applications and added value in the area of sustainable agriculture. Central are the insect hormones and the insect midgut, and they are studied at whole organism, cellular and protein/gene level by use of different functional bioassays to better understand insect growth and moltin/metamophosis, and also then to identify and develop screening tools for novel insecticide targets and insecticide resistance.
