Project: Application of low cost sorption technologies for (ground)water purification in the Main Ethiopian Rift Valley

project duration
01/10/14 – 30/09/16
In this project, the suitability of raw and modified chitosan, scoria and pumice for the purification of Ethiopian groundwater, polluted with F, As, U, Mo and B, is investigated. This is done using batch and column adsorption setups, considering design parameters, such as contact time, flow rate and adsorbent dose, and initial pollutant concentration, pH, and competing ions.
