Project: Use of insects as model in the screening of food peptides as food intake regulatory factors in the fight against metabolic syndrome in humans.

project duration
01-OCT-10 – 30-SEP-12
This project evaluates the use of insects as model to investigate the potential of bioactive peptides to reduce food intake by interacting with the cholecystokinin-receptor. After enzymatich hydrolysis of food proteins, bioactive peptides are isolated and their activity on the cholecystokinin-receptor is determined using the selected insect models. Moreover, their in vivo satiating effect in rats as model for human.
