Project: Longitudinal study of student teachers' and novice teachers' motivations for teaching and commitment to teaching: expanding the FIT-Choice framework

Building on the FIT-choice framework, the research project examines (1) how student teachers’ motivations for teaching and commitment to teaching are affected by the professional contexts they experienced during teacher education, resulting in a particular decision on job entry and (2) how motivations and commitment develop in the teaching profession and thereby affect novice teachers’ planned retention in teaching.
