- Study of smart microparticles for diagnostic and pharmaceutical applications. Incorporation of nanoscopic magnets at the surface of encoded microparticles by using the layer-by-layer technique is evaluated. By reading the code, after orientation of 'surface modified encoded beads in a magnetic field, we know the identity of the probe at the surface of the particle. Such particles are potentially interesting for multiplexing.
