Project: Investigation of effects of canonical and non-canonical NF-kB activation on the chromatin environment of the IL-6 gene in immune cells
- project duration
- 01-OCT-05 – 30-SEP-08
- The pleiotropic cytokine IL-6 is produced by different cell types, among which immune cells. Importantly, aberrant IL-6 expression levels are associated with auto-immune diseases, chronic inflammation and cancer. In this project we will study the involvement of epigenetic factors in regulating IL-6 expression in B cells. In addition, we will investigate whethet chromatin-associated factors are responsible for enhanced IL-6 expression in multiple myeloma.
