Project: Aspects of decoupling and reduction of Langrangian systems

The term geometric mechanics is related to research of mechanical systems in which differential geometry is used. The first goal is the characterization of partial decoupling into substructures of Langrangian systems. Also elements of symmetry reduction will be investigated. Both objectives will be realized for both classical Langrangian systems and for non-holonomic systems and control theory.
