Project: An X-ray view on the intra-seasonal dynamics of carbon storage in trees [XINCAST]
2018-01-01 – 2021-12-31
- Abstract
Forests are key in the terrestrial carbon cycle. Studying the seasonal drivers of carbon storage in wood (Wagner et al. 2016) is however labour intensive and mainly descriptive. In this project, we aim at developing an innovative and quantitative method for mapping of intra-seasonal carbon storage using X-ray computed tomography and X-ray fluorescence scans of micro-cores.
