Project: Occupation and water control in the Achaemenid Heartland. A geo-archaeological approach to the ancient landscape of Pasargadae and Persepolis (Fars, Iran)

- This research is a multidisciplinairy analysis of ancient dams in the Achaemenid Heartland. Encompassing archaeological, geo-archaeological fieldwork and remote sensing, the study aims at a reconstruction of the archaeological landscape of the Achaemenid Heartland in the First Millennium BC. This research will contribute to a more contextual and landscape-oriented understanding of the royal Achaemenid palaces of Pasargadae and Persepolis in Southern Iran.
