Project: Investigation of the role of DNA double strand break (dsb) repair pathways in chromosomal radiosensitivity by gene silencing of key genes involved in DNA dsb repair

- In this project we will investigate which DNA dsb repair pathways/genes are involved in the formation of mcironucleic (MN) and G2 chromatid breaks (detected with respectively the MN and G2-assay). By studying gene silencing of some of the key genes in the dsb repair pathways, the cause of the enhanced chromosomal radiosensitivity - observed with both assays in lymfoid cells of breast cancer patients - will be further elucidated.
