Project: Experimental and theoretical study of the mechanical behaviour of fibre-reinforced thermoplastics under fatigue loading conditions

abstract
The mechanical behaviour of fibre-reinforced thermoplastics is investigated under fatigue loading. Experiments are performed in tension/compression, shear and bending, and the stiffness degradation, hysteresis and (possible) heating are measured continuously. Based on these experimental data, a damage model is developed to describe the damage initiation and growth in these composites, starting from the first loading cycle up till final failure.
