Project: Differences in animal susceptibility for subacute ruminal acidosis (SARA) in relation to feeding behaviour of dairy cattle.
2019-10-01 – 2023-08-15
- Abstract
Subacute rumen acidosis (SARA) is a metabolic disorder, characterized by a decrease in rumen pH, without clear clinical symptoms. There are important animal differences in sensitivity. The hypothesis states that differences in feeding behaviour can explain this variability. Based on milk metabolites and sensor data, this study aims to develop tools to identify SARA-sensitive animals and to develop precision strategies.
