Project: Evaluation of an optimised neuro-otological auditory evoked potential (AEP) technique for differential diagnosis (stacked ABR) and a new AEP application for electrophysiological threshold determination (Multiple-ASSR)

project duration
01-OCT-04 – 30-NOV-09
This study examines 2 new research methods which evaluates auditory nerve activity. Firstly, a normative database will be established for stacked ABR-technique, who detects acoustic neuroma < 1 cm, by testing normal-hearing and hearing-impaired nontumour and tumour patients. Secondly, the precision of multiple ASSR-technique in predicting behavioural thresholds will be examined in normal-hearing and hearing-impaired adults using a combined stimulus.
