Project: Development of novel techniques for the simulation of solid-liquid phase change problems
2022-10-01 – 2026-09-30
- Abstract
Thermal Energy Storage is key for the development of a sustainable energy system in the EU. Current solid-liquid phase change models lack accuracy with a sinking or floating solid phase. This project aims at developing new CFD based modelling techniques for close contact melting in phase change materials. The technique will be used to investigate melting in porous structures.
