Project: A Quantitative and Qualitative Examination of English and Scottish Chapbooks in the Long Eighteenth Century: Redaction, Material text, and the Reading of ephemeral Print Capital
- project duration
- 01/01/15 – 31/12/16
- The project will analyse the largest corpus of British chapbooks ever studied within the long eighteenth century (1680 to 1830), a period during which the democratisation of reading of popular literature occurred. It wil produce a literary-historiographical intervention utilising both qualitative and quantitative methods that recovers the publishing and consumption of chapbooks in the larger world of print.
