Project: A detailed study into the role of matrix metalloproteinase 8 (MMP8) and other MMPs in endotoxemia and immunity
01-OCT-06 – 30-SEP-10
Endotoxemia lies at the basis of septic shock, which causes several hundreds of thousands of deaths each year worldwide. There is urgent need for better therapeutics that can cure sepsis in patients. We focus on the role of a family of proteases, the matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), more particularly MMP8, in endotoxemia and sepsis.
