abstract
Optimization of the sample pretreatment (chromatographic isolation) and measurement protocol for the highly precise and accurate B-10/B-11 isotope ratio determination via multi-collector ICP-mass spectrometry using solution nebulization or laser ablation as a means of sample introduction. Assessment and calibration of the B isotope ratio proxy using recent bivalve samples from the Scheldt estuary. Use of the B-proxy for retrieving palaeoclimate information from, among other, fossil biogenic cabonatres, speleotherms, ice cores.
