Project: The energy metabolism of the estuarine mysid Neomysis integer (Crustacea, Mysidacea) as a biomarker for endocrine disruption in estuaries

project duration
01-SEP-02 – 31-AUG-04
abstract
a new methodology (Cellular Energy Allocation , CEA) to assess the energy budget will be adopted for the mysid Neomysis integer. The energy metabolism is under hormone control and thus susceptive for the effects of endocrine disruptors. This research validates the use of the energy metabolism as a biomarker for endocrine disruption through environmental pollution by means of laboratory and field experiments in different European countries
