Project: Attention and executive functioning in adolescents and adults with an autism spectrum disorder.
2001-01-01 – 2003-12-31
- Abstract
The aim of this project is to determine whether a disturbance of attention and/or ex ecutive functioning is present in normally intelligent adolescents and adults with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), with a clinical diagnosis of high-functioning autism (HFA) or Asperger's syndrome (AS). Computerized choice-reaction tasks will be used. It is hypothesised that there are deficits in divided attention, flexibility and state regulation. The results of this project may have important implications for our theoretical understanding of autism and related disorders.
