Project: Cross-linguistic Research of South African Sign Language (SASL) and Flemish Sign Language (VGT)

The project will consist of two parts: - a survey of the linguistic and sociolinguistic situation of South African Sign Language and its community/communities (also resulting in a sketch grammar of SASL) - a cross-linguïstic study of morpho-syntactic features of both sign languages, focusing on reference tracking since this process triggers several morpho-syntactic structures and mechanisms which facilitates which facilitates a comparison of the grammars of both languages.
